My little brother is graduating HS tonight. It makes me feel old.

Five years ago, I graduated high school on this day, and started my Livejournal.

So, happy five years LJ.

So, several months ago, I bought the Yoga Booty Ballet workout DVDs after watching an informercial late one night. OK, don't laugh, but it looked like a lot of fun. I went online and looked at reviews and the women who bought the tapes had nothing but good things to say.

So, I bought the DVDs and they sat collecting dust, until yesterday. I broke out the Basic DVD and did the meditation part, but quit after I became confused over what I was supposed to do next. The guidebook said I should do the Abs segment, but there were no section indicators on the DVD. I gave up and wondered if I had actually invested wisely.

Today, however, I broke out the Yoga Booty Ballet Live: Cardio Cabaret - Burlesque Style DVD I had received with my order, and let me tell you, it was SO MUCH FUN! I don't think I've ever had that much fun when doing a workout. It's goofy in a sense, but you get to dance and really put yourself into it. The time goes by really fast, too. I also have "Hip Hop Abs" and I can't wait to try that. Maybe I'll actually be able to figure out the basic and advanced series too, lol.

So, if you're looking for a fun and easy workout, I definitely recommend trying the Live series. :-)

Let me tell you how much the flu and other related stuff sucks.

I've been sick for 12 days now. I probably haven't eaten for 9 or 10 days. I've just marked a week straight today, actually.

I went to the E.R. last Wednesday. After four hours, I was told I had the flu (wow, I didn't know that) and a very bad virus in my mouth. The virus has seriously screwed up my mouth. My gums are swollen among other things, making eating anything very painful. The sores on my tongue are starting to heal so now I can actually drink OJ without it hurting so much, but food is out of the question. It's actually pretty weird; I really have no desire to eat. I'm just trying to so as I won't pass out or anything. So far, I've been fine.

The fever's been gone for a few days now, but I still have a bad cough and the mouth problems to contend with.

I'm going to give it until Monday because I've read that this stuff takes two weeks to heal, and the problems actually started a few days after my flu symptoms.

I'll tell ya, this sucks. It's really thrown me off from the job search and everything else. I've spent about $100 on crap to fight all the sickness. Ugh. I can't wait to be over this.

I didn't think it was entirely possible to get the flu approaching the summer season, but yep, I did. Sometime yesterday I started feeling like CRAP. I felt like I had a slight fever and my head hurt. It went away and I thought, oh good. By the time 10 rolled around, I felt awful. My body was achey and I felt so exhausted. Overnight I had the chills, an incredibly high fever, and my body just felt awful. I could barely sleep.

Pretty much the same thing through most of today ... I was walking around like an old person. I was that weak. I couldn't eat and sleep was touch and go as well.

I'm feeling a little better right now after some tea and toast. Who knows how long that will last.

If none of this is making sense, I'm really out of it right now.

I still haven't applied to graduate school at Duquesne. I've been saying that I'm going to apply for the last two months. What the hell is taking me so long?

I should be asleep because I have to intern later today. Perhaps I'll work on finishing the application there. Actually, it is complete. Sort of. I just need to write my personal statement, find three recommendation letters and register to take the GRE. Ugh, standardized tests. My quantitative skills, unless I have a calculator, are horrendous. Not looking forward to that.

I graduate in six weeks. Is this the end? My gosh, it's hard to believe that my undergraduate career is drawing to a close. I honestly don't know what to do with myself. The job thing is pretty bleak right now, which is why I want to advance my degree and intern with a few places. The program has a partnership with Ketchum, but I don't think I can get into that until I've been in the program for a semester. I'm looking at Not-For-Profits right now, so perhaps I can work during the day because most of the classes are held in the evenings.

I think I'm gonna hit the hay now, so I'll probably update tomorrow. Er, I mean today.
